Fruit Quality
Very large fruit size until the end of picking,
very attractive, uniform long conical shape, bright red in colour.
Good flavour and long shelf-life.
Plant Characteristics
Vigorous, quite resistant to winter frost.
Disease Resistance
Quite resistant to most common root diseases,
tolerant to mildew (Oidium fragariae) and Xanthomonas fragariae,
susceptible to Colletotrichum acutatum.
Marketing Suitability
Early picking period, easy to pick, high
productivity, very attractive fruit, very large fruit size until the
end of picking.
Use of the Variety
One of the most widely cultivated varieties in
Italy in tunnels and the open field for spring cultivation. Alba is
suitable for production using cold stored, fresh and plug plants.
