Parentage
It was obtained in 1980 from open pollination of cv Malling Jet and was selected in 1984. It was
tested as I-75.
Fruit Quality
The number of berries per long strig averages 8.5. Berries are large (0.82 g), separating easily
from the stalk.
Yield
Cv Čačanska Crna is a heavy cropper. Under favourable growing conditions, the yields even
exceed 13 t-ha.
Season
Mid-late.
Plant Characteristics
Bush is vigorous. Branches are first erect growing and later become spreading under the weight of the
crop. The raceme has a long central axis with 10-15 flowers. Cv Čačanska Crna is a self-fertile
cultivar with excellent cropping. It is tolerant to low winter temperatures.
Disease resistance
It is highly resistant to major diseases and pests. It is resistant to currant rot (Cornartium ribicola)
and leaf spot (Pseudopezizarilis)
Use of the Cultivar
Berries are delicate and thus recommended for fresh consumption, freezing and processing.
