The season of Lucy overlaps with Elsanta but peaks about one week later.
Tests conducted at East Malling Research have shown that Lucy has a useful level of resistance to crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum), but the plants are moderately susceptible to both verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae) and powdery mildew (Podosphaera aphanis).
Lucy is protected under Community (EU) Plant Variety Rights (Grant No. 32752). The propagation and sale of plants, or parts of plants, of Lucy without a licence is prohibited. Only Propagation Licence holders can propagate and receive propagation grade material (and not Sales or Growing-on Transformation Licence holders).
